Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover
Mars Science Laboratory (MSL, or Curiosity) is a Mars rover launched by NASA on November 26, 2011. Currently en route to the planet, it is scheduled to land in Gale Crater on August 6, 2012. The rover's objectives include determining Mars' habitability, studying the Martian climate and geology, and collecting data for a future manned mission to Mars.
This model was built and modeled heavily in 3ds Max 2012, and is large in size, weighing in at 171 MB. This rover has 1994 individual pieces that can be edited, moved, UVWed, mapped, or deleted to meet your specifications. It has no bones or rigging, and sits in a static pose. The moving parts (tires, suspension, head, arm) could be rigged for movement or animation.
The renderings were done in Maxwell and V-Ray, and is set up with Maxwell materials.
