The Nucleus is the control center of the cell. It contains most of the DNA of the cell. Nuclear pores on the surface allow ions and molecules to enter the cell.
This 3DS max file of a nucleus has an animated noise modifier, to give it a realistic “underwater” feeling of movement. The texture is set up using a network of several procedural maps in conjunction with a black and white .jpg for the nuclear pores.
Includes Endoplasmic Reticulum:
The endoplasmic reticulum surrounds the nucleus and is made up of the Rough endoplasmic reticula and the smooth endoplasmic reticula. Ribosomes are attached to the rough endoplasmic reticula and are transported from it by vesicles to the Golgi Bodies.
Model of Rough Endoplasmic reticulum includes Ribosomes attached to it. Ribosomes are stuck to the surface of the reticulum, so the noise modifier makes it look like they are moving along with the mesh. Uses default 3DS scanline renderer, for maximum compatibility.
