A semi-fictional 19th Century one seater submarine prototype. This vehicle was modelled after a technical 2 views drawing by J. P. Holland, inventor of modern submarines. The drawing is autographed and Holland
states that a similar prototype was actually tested in 1878. I added the propeller rim and the Hunley-like spar torpedo to the original design only. These pieces are separated objects and the model can be used without them. The hull riveted iron plates construction is inspired by that of the American Civil War era submarines.

Model is composed by 3545 polygons, 20 objects. All quads. Two 1024x1024 textures in .JPG format, one for diffuse and one for bumpmap. Rendered with XSI Foundation built-in Mentalray renderer and Yellow/blue/white lights plus G.I.
Scene and lighting not included.
Textures, materials and model objects are purposefully named, textures are included in the .Rar file.
Model was exported just above the scene origin.
This vehicle comes in polygonal form. It was rendered with two sub-d iterations applied, with two exceptions:
The hull had only one sub-d iteration to prevent texture distortion
The propeller is kept in place on its shaft by a huge hexagonal nut. This piece is 8 quads and is good as it is,i.e. non subdivided.
