A 3m tall aluminum ladder with square profile rungs at 30cm spacing, typically as used for fixed installations on buildings, plant and equipment but also ideal as a portable ladder.

Rungs are modelled using patches with a displacement material, allowing low-poly use as well as detailed rendering of close-ups. The modifier stacks for all objects in the model are left uncollapsed to further help in editing, and also as a basic tutorial on how the model was formed.

This model is supplied in two formats:-

The '3DS Max version 9' file uses standard materials and is configured for Scanline or MR rendering. Each rung has an extra displacement-approx modifier in the stack to allow for this.

the '3DS Max version 9VRAY' file uses materials and render settings for Vray 1.5 or later ONLY. The render settings include a simple environment override but no reflection maps, and the rungs are missing the extra modifier (since Vray can handle displacement mapping on patches natively).
