This is a model of a grocery store shopping cart with a plastic basket. The file was created in 3DS Max and rendered with V-ray 1.5 SP6. The color of the basket can be easily changed as detailed below.
All objects have been given logical names for easy reference. For animation in Max, the moving parts (casters, collapsible seat, and seat components) have been linked to parent objects and have had rotational locks turned on in Max to prevent rotations in the incorrect axes. When the Max file is opened, the frame is selectable with all other objects linked and frozen for easy positioning.
The Photoshop texture file (in PSD format) has been created with labeled layers to simplify customization. The logo sections on the basket, grip, and child seat are included in the same image and the UV Maps have been laid out to allow all editing to be done in a single 2048x2048 image. The text and graphics elements are located in groups within the PSD file. The text is not rasterized and can be easily customized.
At the base layer is a template which will indicate how the snapping guides are intended to be used to place new design elements. There are four (4) color swatches included (Blue, Red, Green, and Black). Each basket color is a single solid color layer in Photoshop, so you can easily add new colors to the file as needed. To change colors, hide all but one color and save the file to update your model. To render multiple colors, the file can be used as a master file from which you can save out separate images while retaining the simple editing options in the original.
One V-ray material was used for the chrome material and was rendered using an HDR image for display (the HDR image not included). All other materials are standard materials. Texture maps include both bitmaps and procedural maps.
A simple key-frame animation has been set up to animate the seat collapsing. If you adjust the timing of this animation, be sure to adjust the animation curve for the object labeled 'Seat_Base' since the non-pivoting end of this element must track along another element for the animation to look correct. The buckle ends do fit together, but are not animated in this file.
