This is a high quality model of an Ash tree, more specifically a Green Ash tree, scientific name Fraxinus pennsylvanica. This tree grows natively all across the Eastern United States as far west as Nebraska and eastern Texas. It a very common ornamental tree throughout the US and Canada because it tolerates city conditions like pollution and root damage.

The model is medium-heavy for trees at a little under 500k polys. It's about 65' tall. Includes hand made textures accurate to the species for both the bark and leaves based on photos and scans. The lower branches merge organically into the trunk rather than using simple cylinders, which makes it great for adding to high resolution or closeup images where unrealistic geometry or textures would be obvious and there are 7 distinct and different leaves scattered throughout. There is also a displacement map included for the trunk which really sells the organic look.

Included are Max 2010, obj (exported with Max's 'Maya' preset) and fbx files, as well as all texture maps. For the Max files, there are versions with Standard Materials, Mental Ray and Maxwell. The Mental Ray and Maxwell versions include translucent leaves. The example renders were made with the Maxwell version.
