| Each of the corn stalks is different: some have ears of corn, either in the husk or partly open. The stalks can be used to frame a scene, display a section of a cornfield, or, there are enough stalks to enable you to construct an entire cornfield by duplicating the stalks. The scarecrow has a stuffed burlap sack for a head, and an old hat, shirt and pair of pants. These kinds of scarecrows are are mounted on wooden sticks in such a way that their sleeves and pant legs will flap in the breeze. The flapping cloth is thought to frighten animals that would eat the field crops. |
