This is a 3d model of a human eye, created with a professional attention to detail that will make your characters more believable and help sell your 3d models.

This model is created in 3dsMax 2011 and rendered in Vray 2.40.03.


-Separate geometry for the eyeball, sclera/cornea, iris and lens with separate textures and materials working together to best match the real anatomical structure and look of a human eye.

-Textures are very highly detailed (up to 4096x4096px) and created from high resolution photographic references for the most realistic results.

-Includes 6 different iris color / normal / bump variations:
2 blue, 2 brown, and 2 green.

-Clean topology, perfect for subdivision to attain a smoother surface if necessary.

-Realistic proportions and real-world scale. The eye diameter is 24mm. Scene system units are cm.

-The iris model includes a deformed, natural state, closed pupil state and open pupil state, as well as the perfectly round base model. The user can switch between, edit and animate between those via the applied modifiers and morpher.

-Easy to animate pupil dilation with the applied morpher modifier.


-All materials are set up with real units and scientifically accurate index of refraction for each material.

-The 6 different iris materials are Vray SSS2 and are all included in the scene and set up, ready to be assigned to the iris model.
They each use 3 unique 1024x1024 maps for SSS color, normals and additional bump, and a common 512x512 opacity map for seamless blending with the eyeball.

-The eyeball uses the VraySSS2 material and uses an SSS color map (4096x4096) and bump map (4096x4096)

-The cornea / sclera uses a bump map (4096x4096), reflection map (4096x4096) and glossiness map (1024x1024)


-The .max scene is ready to render.

-It is set up for a fast, realistic render in linear workflow (gamma 2.2) in Vray 2.40.03 with vray lights and an hdr environment map for additional lighting and reflection. A groundplane is also present in the scene for a darker lower side.

-This scene is set up for the presentation of the eye model. Your character / scene may require a different setup for best results.
